Mission accomplished... Not really.

Today is not a very good day. Mostly because NHS fail. I am stressing like mad about whether I will make it to the doctor's before I leave Glasgow. God I don't even know how I'm getting to Prague. Everything is so expensive/time consuming/effortful. My horrorday was broken up with a nice lunch and a walk through the Botanic Gardens, people watching and lying in the grass. That part was all lovely. Unfortunately it didn't last long enough because I had to head off to an appointment which I failed to make on time because this country has hopeless signs/a lack of... Anyway I am obviously not very sociable at the moment so I've been sitting on my bed gorging and attempting to sort out flights to Prague. I think I'll be spending a good twenty hours or so chilling at Birmingham airport... I've taken a break from the flight hunting and figured I should try be productive and actually write a post. So yeah, here I am. PICTURETIME (I'm so behind so I may be in Glasgow at the moment but as far as my blogging goes it's all about London today).

Okay so the first picture was actually taken whilst I was living in Sunningdale but I still have to share it. I understand the quality is terrible but oh my gosh this is probably the most meaningful photo I have of this trip. I trekked to London on the train on April 15, dumped my stuff at a hostel in Camden then wandered off for food and shopping. I ended up getting back to the hostel later than I had planned and ended up having to rush to get ready for the reason I was in London, a Black Rebel Motorcycle Club gig at the Electric Ballroom. I had originally planned on heading to the pub prior to the show for dinner and some drinks but felt I was running a little late as doors were close to opening and I didn't want to miss anything. So I simply wandered down high street to the venue and popped onto the end of the queue that had formed outside the door. I was shocked by the amount and openness of scalpers. I had never seen anything like it before. They wander up and down the street between the tube station and Electric Ballroom yelling out that they are buying and selling tickets to the evening's show. Anyway, after getting over the novelty of the scalpers I realised I was freezing. I had noticed when I left the hostel that it was a little chilly and I probably wasn't appropriately dressed but I had not wanted to waste time going back for warmer attire. The line continued to grow and the time in which the doors were meant to open came and went and we all continued to wait. After quite some time it didn't look like we were going to be getting in for quite a while so I decided to go back to the hostel to get gloves and a scarf. I rushed back assuming that the doors would be open by the time I got back and that I'd be missing out on something. I was wrong. I returned to a huge line that had formed around the corner of the markets. Everyone was freezing and thanks to some whinging about the weather I managed to make friends with the two people in front of me. At one stage the line began to move and we all got excited thinking we were going in. We were all rather annoyed to realise that the line had just bunched into a circle around someone we assumed was giving us some kind of bad news. Then suddenly I realised - I was going to say 'we' realised, but I have no idea when others noticed - it was Black Rebel Motorcycle Club member Robert, serenading us. He wandered up and down the sidewalk getting face to face with every single person in the crowd. Oh my god it was amazing. It made waiting in the cold for hours worth while ahhaha.

The first of many rooms I stayed in at St Christopher's in Camden.

The following pictures were taken at London's Imperial War Museum. I am so in love with that place. Especially the banana custard in the cafe...

A piece of the Berlin Wall apparently.

MUMMY!!!

Oh Khrushchev... This made me giggle.

And this made me hate the world a little more.

So I ended up leaving this post unfinished last night and have just returned to it. I am exhausted after a day wandering Glasgow in the cold, wet, windy, gloomy - just bleugh day. I need to go eat something or put some makeup on and get ready for a night out but it all seems like too much effort. So I will hopefully get this finished... Ah procrastination. I don't even need uni for it. Oh and I managed to get to the doctor today AND get my prescriptions, YAY!

More hilarity at the Imperial War Museum

Fail photo. But isn't the baby in the old school scuba helmet style gas mask thing just the greatest!

An attempt at a healthy dessert. Berries are super cheap in the UK.

I was very conservative with the chocolates Ma sent me from home.

Some of the Windmill kids came into London for the night and we went out in Covent Garden. The wine was terrible and we ended up mixing it into the cocktails.

I guess I needed a haircut.

More hostel vanity. This was just before I went to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see an exhibition on the history of fashion. Oh my gosh it was divine.

Victoria and Albert... This staircase was amazing. I had wanted to get a photo looking up through it but it has metal bits stopping you from being able to see up. I assume it's for strength. But still. Lame.

There was cool stuff carved into the staircase.

LOVE.

The courtyard was beautiful and it was a lovely sunny day. A bit windy but I just sat down next to the building and read for a bit.

My kind of tulips :)

Oh dear. I have nearly given up hope on finishing this post ever... This is my third attempt and I'm keen to go for a wander soon so I doubt I'll last too long. Sigh...

A late April trip to the British Museum...

Even the ashtrays there are pretty.

There was a beautiful display of South African plants out the front.

Attempting to photograph my new top bahaha.

Okay Imma leave it at that. It's July and I still haven't gotten around to finishing this... I'll post as is and continue later. Oh wow I fail.

Some Babes.
